WOODBURY HEIGHTS RESIDENTS The Woodbury Heights Water Department would like to take this opportunity to explain the reason for the Mandatory Water Conservation.
During the months of April and May, the Borough has been in the process of redeveloping its only well located on Helen Avenue.Due to this project, the Borough must purchase all of its water from New Jersey American Water Company. In an effort to keep this water purchase to the minimum amount possible, water restrictions are necessary.
In addition to the well redevelopment project, the Borough has experienced a significant increase in water usage.This increase has caused the Borough to exceed its annual water allocation with the Board of Public Utilities in 2008.As a result, the Borough is mandated to take measures to reduce its water consumption; therefore, water restrictions have been implemented, as well, to meet this reduced water consumption obligation.
